Scholarship of Teaching and Learning

The Office of Educational Innovation and Scholarship provides SOTLA resources and consultations for faculty members who are interested in educational research in addition to support for writing responses to calls for proposals for conferences and grant applications.

On this page, we have curated some of our resources including relevant pharmacy education and broader instructional design and educational technologies journal lists, recent publications in teaching and learning from our faculty and staff, and links to grants available for SOTLA projects.

Established in 1987 with the mission of promoting research and disseminating information about distance education in the Americas, AJDE explores topics about all teaching-learning relationships where the actors are geographically separated, and communication takes place through technologies. Past volumes (available online) report on education through radio and television, teleconferences and recordings, printed study guides, and multimedia systems. Articles might include evaluation reports (summative and formative), lessons learned, design and development approaches, as well as applied research. The articles will be based on design and development projects as opposed to pure research projects and focus on lessons learned and how to improve the instructional design process. Rigor will be established through articles grounded in research and theory.”
