Qualtrics™ is a powerful tool for conducting survey research available to Ohio State faculty, staff, and students. OEIS manages account access for College of Pharmacy faculty, staff, and students and provides troubleshooting and consultation on project-specific issues. This page contains information about this tool.

Recent Announcements

New Survey Builder Coming Soon

QualtricsXM will soon update its current survey editor with a new Survey Builder, featuring new navigation, a new question builder interface, and drag and drop functionality for moving questions and blocks. These and other updates will be introduced with an opt-in option available beginning March 31. The new Survey Builder will become the default for all users by May 31, 2021.

All current survey building functionality will continue to be available, but the look and feel of the interface will change significantly.

TROUBLESHOOTING AND SURVEY RESEARCH CONSULTATIONS

A REMINDER ABOUT DATA SECURITY

Please note that Qualtrics is not approved for the collection or storage of Restricted Data (S4) per Ohio State’ Institutional Data Policy. Examples of restricted data included Protected Health Information (PHI), social security numbers, credit card numbers, and export-controlled research data. If you have any questions about approved data types in Qualtrics, please contact Casey Hoerig.4@osu.edu.

As a condition of maintaining your Qualtrics access through the College of Pharmacy, we ask you to please refresh your Institutional Data Policy training annually.


DATA MANAGEMENT PLANS

If your surveys are part of a research project. please follow protocols established in your project’s data management plan. Assistance with creating a data management plan is available through University Libraries Research Commons.


SURVEY ACCESSIBILITY

When you begin to build surveys, please be aware that the university is now asking Qualtrics users to avoid using questions types that are not accessible. We strongly recommend that you always check survey accessibility and avoid using any of the identified inaccessible question types.
