Think Tank Thursdays: Ask an ID

July 12 – July 19 – July 26

What does an instructional designer do? Can they help me with my course development? Brainstorm ideas with me? Help with this new instructional tool I’m developing?

Bring all your questions to an Ask an ID session! These sessions are informal, open-ended meeting times with no set agendas.

Not sure what to ask? We will have some pre-planned tips and tricks to share, like:

  • Copyright, Creative Commons, and Open-Access Educational Resources
  • Teaching with technology
  • CarmenCanvas tools and updates
  • Assessment item development and analysis

Book Club: Teaching Interculturally

May 17 – May 24 – May 31

Join us in reading and discussing Teaching Interculturally: A Framework for Integrating Disciplinary Knowledge and Intercultural Development by Amy Lee et al. This thought-provoking book is about maintaining disciplinary standards while creating learning opportunities that invite students into the learning process, teach them how to take responsibility for their learning, and allow them to share their diverse voices and learn about alternate perspectives. The book focuses on the teacher and the work of re-thinking and developing a course, including case studies, examples of student work, and examples of classroom challenges.

Please RSVP for these sessions:

We have 12 books available (first come, first served).

We will send out a reading schedule and discussion schedule to participants soon!
