Chance to submit to Local Conference with cash prizes available

Please consider submitting a proposal to present your academic work at the annual AURCO Conference (Association of Regional Campuses of Ohio) to be held at the Kent State Trumbull campus on Sat. April 16th.

Here are the proposal guidelines:   http://www.aurco.org/conference/guidelines

The deadline for submission has been extended until February 15th, so you have plenty of time to decide what format you want your presentation to take—traditional paper, roundtable, Friday night 5 minute Ignite talk, or posters (students only).

The conference is a great way to share research on teaching and research, as well as a great opportunity for students to become introduced to the world of academic conferences.  An additional incentive for students to present is a $500 prize for the best student poster and a $500 prize for the best student paper presented at the conference. Also, everyone who presents at the conference is encouraged to submit a revised version of their paper to the peer-reviewed AURCO journal.

The Friday night reception includes entertainment by the Melanie Tabak duo—a jazz, pop, and soul group featuring Trumbull’s own Melanie Tabak along with John Ruggles while entertainment during the Saturday luncheon will be by the Kent State Stopper Quartet:

Violins: Tak-Kin Wong, Ming-Yuan Song
Viola: Marco Wing-Sun Man
Cello: Vincent Cheuk-Yan Leung.

For additional information, including instructions on how to submit an abstract, please go to the conference website at:   http://aurco.org/conference

We hope to see you at Kent State Trumbull on Friday and Saturday April 15-16th.
