About Me

My name is Andrew Copa. I am a freshman Pre Biomedical Engineering student. I attended St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio where I had a tremendous experience in and out of the classroom. As a student there, I took part in many activities such as community service through the St. Vincent de Paul Society and leading a club called the Linguistics Club which studied foreign cultures and languages. I also took a wide array of classes and was able to get some experience in my school’s pre engineering program. I hope to take part in similar activities on campus by trying to get involved with service on campus and hopefully minoring in Spanish over the next four years. My main motivation behind wanting to be a biomedical engineer is its relation to the medical field. I feel that my work as a biomedical engineer would most affect the lives of those in need, and this is one of my main goals in life. Initially, my goal is to make sure that Biomedical engineering is the right major for me by exploring the field through any resources I can find. I also plan to work to the best of my ability and continue to achieve the good grades that got me to where I am today. I am in the Honors program and was selected as a Morrill Scholar, and both of these honors give me motivation to do my best at all times.
