I am a current junior in Ohio State’s Eminence Program majoring in History. What excites me about this course of study is the opportunity it gives me to further investigate some of my most important academic interests, including (but not limited to) pre-contact Polynesian society and Islamic history, while advancing my ability to work across cultural and linguistic lines in a rapidly globalizing society. Over the past year I have also taken an interest in underwater archaeology, and hope to continue to pursue this interest.
My hobbies include travel and physical fitness. I have been blessed to have had opportunities to explore some of the most beautiful corners of our globe, from Alaska’s “Inside Passage” in the Northern Hemisphere (seen above) to the bustling port of Pago Pago in the Southern Hemisphere. While COVID-19 has hindered my ability to travel, I am excited to acquaint myself with new cultures and peoples following the end of the global pandemic. In the meantime, I have dedicated myself to achieving personal fitness goals, the pursuit of which has brought a lot of joy to my life.
