
I like climbing rocks too. I climb sport up to ~5.12 and boulder up to ~V8. I have a light trad rack and have led a handful of trad lines up to ~5.10a.
Living practically next to a bouldering gym, I focus mainly on bouldering and hangboarding with an emphasis on max hangs (~5 sec duration). I also go through periods of weight training (both push/pull muscle groups) and have broken through some plateaus with this. Regular stretching and especially antagonist strengthening have helped me avoid tendinitis in my fingers, wrists, and elbows (I learned the importance of this after months of tendinitis). Throughout my career I’ve had two moderate finger pulley sprains (ring A4 and ring A2 on separate hands) that set me back at least 6 months each in my training progress—I learned a lot from those and am much smarter now (I think) about injury prevention.
