Course Information and Enrollment

Transfer students must work with their academic advisor to schedule their first semester courses and to make any modifications to those courses once enrolled.  After a student’s first semester at Ohio State, students are able to add/drop courses without advisor assistance so long as the enrollment window has opened and the deadlines for dropping coursework have not passed.

Math Placement

The mathematics placement code indicates the level of math the student is permitted to take at Ohio State.  A Math Placement Score of R or higher is required to enroll in Chemistry 1110.  Please see this page for more information on Math Placement at Ohio State.

For information on interpreting your math placement score, please see this page.

Language Placement Testing

There is not a foreign language requirement at the College of Nursing. Click here for more information about foreign language testing.

General Education (GE) Courses

The General Education (GE) courses at Ohio State are a set of courses designed to expose students to a breadth of topics while the College of Nursing core curriculum provides students the depth to make an impact within the health care community.  Click here for more information.

Biology and Chemistry

Students wishing to enroll in Biology 1110, 1113.01, or 1113.02 must enroll in Chemistry in the same semester if they do not have previous Chemistry credit.  This means if you plan to take Biology 1110, 1113.01, or 1113.02 and do not have previous Chemistry credit, you will need to enroll in both Biology 1110, 1113.01, or 1113.02 and Chemistry 1110 or 1210 in the same semester.  You will not be able to take Biology without this previous credit or corequisite.
