For my junior and senior year of High School, I was captain of my soccer team, but more importantly I was in charge of helping and organizing our “Kicking Cancer” night. For this event, my fellow captains and I raised a large sum of money for Reese, a strong, determined, and passionate little girl, in our county battling cancer. We sold Pura-Vida Bracelets, did raffles, and multiple other forms of fundraising for Reese. She has been battling cancer for over two years and was the biggest motivation for my team and I. Running this event made me think about those who are in tough situations but battle through no matter the odds. Seeing Reese and the fighter she has been was a wake up for me to pursue a job in which I can help those affected by health crisis and diseases such as cancer. Although I do a magnitude of community service, working with kids less-fortunate, with health discrepancies, and kids going through other battles has been my main source of guidance for my future career. Whether I go Medical School to become a Pediatrician, or to Law School to fight for those damaged by health crisis, my time working with Reese has made a large impact on my future and has provided me with a big inspiration.
