Transcripts/Transfer Credit Report
Once a student has accepted their offer of admission, has completed all required steps to start as a student at OSU, and has had transcripts processed by the Registrar’s Office, their transfer credit will appear on their Transfer Credit Report in their My Buckeye Link portal. Please note that the tutorials found on this page will help you navigate and interpret the information found on your Transfer Credit Report.
Important Notes and Impacts regarding Transfer Credit:
- Students admitted to OSU must ensure that official final transcripts and proof of degree(s) are sent by each institution to Ohio State. For information on how to send transcripts to OSU, please visit this webpage. Students can also check their To Do Items in the Applicant Center to confirm that OSU has received their transcripts.
- To graduate from The Ohio State University, students must complete a minimum of 30 credit hours at Ohio State, complete the minimum number of total college credit hours required for their program, and complete all specific degree requirements. Degree requirements include major courses, General Education courses, and elective hours. Any credit that does not apply directly to specific degree requirements will count as elective credit, contributing towards the total college credit hours needed for graduation.
- To qualify for Latin Honors, 60 credit hours must be completed at Ohio State, (in addition to meeting Ohio State GPA requirements).
- Students completing College Credit Plus, dual enrollment, or other transfer coursework are encouraged to use transferology.com to confirm course transferability, (such as if a transfer course has a direct equivalent to an OSU course). Once a student has determined how a course will transfer to OSU, the OSU Course Catalog can be used to verify how the course applies to degree requirements, (such as if the course applies towards a general education requirement). For further information, please contact con-advising@osu.edu.
- College Credit Plus or dual enrollment credit may not reduce time to graduation. The nursing major cannot be expedited due to the sequential nature of the courses.
- Only direct equivalent transfer courses can fulfill the BSN prerequisites. See the University’s definition of transfer credit types.
