Welcome to The Ohio State University and the College of Nursing! We are excited to have you in the College of Nursing, and congratulations on becoming a future Buckeye nurse!
The pre-nursing first year experience includes the completion of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) pre-requisite courses and meet the admission standards required for the nursing major.
This Virtual Admissions Packet provides an overview of the prerequisite curriculum, minimum grade requirements, and course registration. You are responsible for reviewing the information within the Virtual Admissions Packet.
We encourage you to review this entire packet thoroughly, but prioritize the Course Registration page as there are action items due June 20 that can impact your Autumn registration.
If you have questions prior to Orientation, please email con-advising@osu.edu. Please note we are not able to schedule advising appointments prior to Orientation.
Please take a moment to review the academic calendar, which you can find here. It’s a helpful resource with important dates for all university students, including the first day of classes, registration deadlines, the final exam schedule, and more!
To support students in the time between May 1 and their assigned Orientation date, the College of Nursing advising team will host virtual drop-in hours for New First Year Students. Appointments are not required to attend, and these drop-in hours will be facilitated in a group format. The purpose of these sessions is to allow students to ask general questions that may be helpful to address prior to Orientation. Please note, these sessions will not be able to accommodate individual schedule questions/credit reviews, or discussion of personal academic information protected by FERPA. These sessions are supplementary and do not replace attendance of University Orientation and the Orientation Day 2 Advisor session.
Available dates:
- May 5, 13, 21, 29

- June 2, 10, 18, 26, 30
