Welcome to Health and Wellness Innovation in Healthcare

Dear Students,

Welcome to HWIH! We are very excited you have chosen HWIH as your undergraduate major, a degree which will set you apart from the rest of your peers. In this program, you will be taking unique and transformative classes, be involved in innovative projects and coursework, and take part in the evolving and ever-changing landscape of health promotion and healthcare.

To begin the program, you will need to review our virtual orientation.  You will find it on the Orientation tab to the left of this website. Please listen to the recordings and let us know if you have any questions.

An important motto in the College of Nursing is “to keep dreaming, discovering and delivering” – we hope and anticipate you will do the same in HWIH.

We look forward to our journey together over the next few years.

Dr. Megan Amaya & Dr. Kate Gawlik

In addition to online orientation resources, we have developed an opportunity for you to meet Dean Bernadette Melnyk and learn the values of the College of Nursing.  Dean Melnyk will provide you overview of evidence-based practice and the principles of LIVE WELL. Please join Dean Melnyk and your advising team on Monday, August 24th from 12:30-2:30pm.

If you require an accommodation such as live captioning to participate in this event, please contact the Office of Student Affairs at nursing@osu.edu or 614-292-4041. Requests made two weeks in advance of the event will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.

Please utilize the HWIH to do list to help you prepare for autumn semester and take time to complete the HRSA Survey . All information disclosed in the HRSA Survey is used in aggregate form and is used to determine federal and grant funding opportunities at Ohio State.  Click here for some FAQs for our HWIH program.

For questions about information found in this packet, please email the HWIH Advisor, Hillary Stanley at Stanley.417@osu.edu.
