This map display a possible path for how the salt would get to your table if you lived in a small suburb of Columbus such as Reynoldsburg, Ohio. First, the salt would be extracted at a Solar Salt Plant in Long Beach, California (black square). Once it is ready, it will be sent to Chicago, Illinois (blue circle) where the stock pile is set up. This is a place to hold the salt until is is ready to be distributed. Then, it is transported to Columbus, Ohio (green star) where it is marketed and bought by customers. A person from Reynoldsburg, Ohio (red diamond) goes to the grocery store and buys salt. Once home, it is used to season their family meals until it runs out. And then the process repeats.
