Motivation

This class has taught me a lot, and though I messed up on some assignments I thought were going to be more simple then they were; I can firmly say that this class gave me some tool is can use to help with my procrastination and help me better schedule and prepare for my final year at Ohio State. I haven’t really messed with any of the technology this class had us use, but I defiantly plan to use them in the future. Specifically the google calendar and google task. Everyday this semester I woke up and checked my schedule on google and type out my taste and things I want to get done that day, it’s been effective.

Typically I tend to be cluttered and my organizational skills are something that needs to be kept up, being organized is a daily practice and organization is perishable, so I try to use my  mornings to get myself together. Waking up early and scheduling everything also puts my mind at ease and has lessened my anxiety over assignments, meetings and classes I have to do that day. My motivating word is something the late great Nipsey Hussle once said, life is a marathon. its continuous. You’ll fall, you’ll fail, you’ll have to start over and regroup over and over again. The point isn’t expect immediate results or be perfect out the gate, that’s not how life works. Everyone who you believe is great, whether that’s your personal mentor or a celebrity you look up too. They all fail more than you know. Nobody posts their failures on social media, all you have to do is find out what you want and go after it.

Good bye procrastination…Hello Graduation

This class has given me a lot of sources to use, whether it’s to track my week through google calendar, or write a formal email to my professor. This course surprised me because it pointed out not only a lot of issues I didn’t really consider, but this class also gave me the tools to help me surpass those problems. However, even with this information, its still up to me to maintain it. that’s the hard part. Procrastination is easy to get rid of in the short term, but much harder as time progresses. People can slip off schedule, they can take an unscheduled break or they could just get wrapped up in stress and let their work fall off. I’ve done all of these and then some, but using the video in module 3

I’ve been able to maintain a good balance in my work and I’ve been on track with not only doing my work, but getting my work done either ahead of time or right on time without fear of the approaching deadline. This was great, because I can calmly get my work done as scheduled and put forth my best effort on assignments without feeling exhausted or lacking energy or motivation. I’ve actually become more motivated and challenged myself to get work turned in ahead of time. my advice for anyone in college is to compete with yourself, make your last assignment a marker for where you want your next assignment to be. If you bet a B+ on one assignment, shoot for an A or an A- on the next. If you regularly turn your work in early, motivate yourself to keep doing that. This way when everyone else is stressing, crying and pulling their hair out over a closing deadline. You can laugh, laugh at the pain and misfortune of those around you who’ve chosen to wait until the last minute to do their work while you’re days ahead or already turned in the assignment days before it was due.
