Artifacts

Over the past semester, I was able to partake in lots of new opportunities, both professionally and socially. One example of an artifact that I think represents my first semester of college is my lacrosse stick. I choose my lacrosse stick because I made the Ohio State Women’s Lacrosse Club team last semester. I played lacrosse all throughout high school and was upset after my final game senior year because I thought it would be my last game ever. Luckily, during the OSU student involvement fair, I went to the area dedicated to club sports. It was there that I decided to sign up for tryouts. Through making the team, I was able to meet lots of new people and continue playing the sport I love. I can’t wait to travel to other states and compete across the U.S. this semester.

About Me

My name is Emma Coleman and I am a first-year student at The Ohio State University. I was born in Columbus, Ohio and have lived here all of my life. Since I grew up so close to Ohio State, I did not imagine myself attending school here. This all changed my junior year of high school when I took a tour of Fisher. I was impressed with the environment and all of the opportunities that Ohio State had to offer. Since joining the Ohio State community, I have decided to specialize in Accounting along with minors in Business Analytics and Communication. In addition to this, I have gotten involved in various organizations on campus. Some of these include the Business Scholars Program, WINning with Deloitte at OSU, the Ohio State Women’s Lacrosse Team, the Undergraduate Business Women’s Association and a part-time job at the Jesse Owens Recreation Centers. Over the next four years, I hope to take part in the Honors Accounting Program, study or intern abroad, complete the Business of Sports Industry Immersion Program and fulfill the 150 credit hour requirement to take the CPA exam.
