CURRENT CLASSES

I am teaching two undergraduate classes in Autumn 2021. The first is a freshman seminar on police power and race in the U.S. I’ve taught this class four times. The second class is an upper division lecture called ‘The Making of the Modern World’. I center the problem of modernity on plantation economics, settler colonialism, imperialism, and capital.  I’ve taught this class regularly since 2005. The title of the class is a mouthful, but it’s one of my favorites.
