This is the place to stay updated on the CoGo expansion process. With federal funding providing up to 80% of project costs, the bike share system in Central Ohio is growing! As part of the first multi-jurisdictional bike share grant in Ohio, CoGo will expand into the neighboring cities of Bexley, Grandview Heights, and Upper Arlington.
Who are we?
- We are a group of 16 students in City & Regional Planning at the Knowlton School at The Ohio State University. Under the direction of Chad Gibson, AICP (Director of Planning, City of Upper Arlington; Adjunct Faculty, Knowlton), we are tasked with recommending station locations for the CoGo expansion. Over the next 10 weeks, we will work with municipal and community leaders in Bexley, Columbus, Grandview Heights, and Upper Arlington to determine the best sites for the new stations.
What are we doing?
- In conjunction with Professor Gibson and the respective municipalities, we are working to identify the most appropriate station locations for the growing bike share system in Central Ohio. Using industry best practices and original research compiling information from bike shares in the U.S. and Canada, our group will use community input and professional resources to determine locations.
What is the timeline for this project?
- We are students working within the constraints of spring semester at Ohio State, so our project will wrap up in late April. By then, we will have recommended station locations and justification for those decisions, along with auxiliary station locations for future expansions or existing station relocation.
