Alpha Rho Chi Scholarship Fund

Established February 8, 1968, with gifts made by Alpha Rho Chi Alumni and friends of the University. The fund is used to provide one or more scholarships to students enrolled in the Knowlton School of Architecture as long as the Knowlton School of Architecture is viable and funds remain available. Revised August 28, 2015.

Alpha Rho Chi is a national fraternity for architecture and the allied arts. The organization unites men and women for the purpose of fellowship and lifelong friendships and mutual interest in professional development. The organization holds professional events, meetings, philanthropy events and social events. As of 2024-25 the chapter at Ohio State has been dormant for many years and is in the process of recolonizing.

More than 50 alumni and friends of Alpha Rho Chi have supported this scholarship over the years. The earliest gift came from Galen Oman, architecture class of 1920. Mr. Oman passed away in 1981. Additional significant gifts to the scholarship have come from Mr. Charles Nickel (architecture, class of 1969) and Mr. Brian McConnell (architecture, class of 1965).
