About Me

Hello all, I’m Megan Coan! I’m pursuing a major in Biology with an interest in a minor or double major in Zoology. I am on the pre-vet track and hope to study exotic animals in the future.

I am currently a member of several extracurricular organizations, including the running club, pre-vet club, and the Columbus Blue Jackets club. I also play trumpet in the Athletic Band. I currently work as a lifeguard at Kalahari Resorts in Sandusky, Ohio

In high school, I was involved in marching band, drama club, cross country, track and field, and swimming for four years. I was the secretary of the band and trumpet section leader for my senior year. I performed with the concert band at the state level for three years. Our drama club also performed shows at the state level for my sophomore and junior year. I volunteered at the Toledo Zoo for five years through the Toledo ZooTeen program from the ages of 13-18. That stretch of time was probably one of the best things to ever happen to me. I learned to speak well, and it was a plus to be able to speak about what I now realize to be my passion. We got into the gritty as well, and I loved every part of it.

As a first year at Ohio State, I haven’t experienced much yet. However, that means there is plenty more to come!
