This paper was suggested to me by Dr. Adam Ahmed. Typically skyrmions appear in bulk materials near the magnetic transition temperature T_C in a small pocket of phase space. In this paper a second skyrmion phase is found at zero temperature stabilized by crystalline anisotropies in the material (Cu2OSeO3). The two skyrmion phases are not thermodynamically connected, e.g., there is a phase transition between them. The existence of multiple skyrmion phases has been proposed theoretically but this is the first experimental observation.
