Your Child’s Early Development and PreK

Early learning environments are important for a child’s understanding of cause and effect, emotions of others, goal setting, and intentions. Here a few things to keep in mind when looking for a quality preschool:

Hi all! My name is Haley Clyburn and I am a student at OSU in Early Childhood Development. I wanted to create this video in a short amount of time, but some other important things for playground safety and enjoyment of physical play include making sure that there is a variety of clean equipment and mulch to fall onto. I just mentioned caregiver/teacher to child ratios and accidentally clipped it off; this number varies by the age of the preschoolers greatly. I have included a link to Child Care Aware of America with the specifics within the full checklist.

Also here is another fun book to walk you through more of the details surrounding the influence you have as a parent (in routine adjustment and consequences of disrespect or misbehavior and rewards)! This is recommended by the National Institute of Health as mentioned in the video to make sure your child is understanding social cues and directives given by students and the teacher in the classroom, so they can problem solve how to approach others and become most successful in control over behavioral compliance.
