Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost Seeks High School Students to Serve on Teen Ambassador Board

Who?

The Ohio Attorney General’s Teen Ambassador Board is open to high school juniors and seniors from public, private, home, charter, and online schools located in Ohio. Ideal candidates are motivated, enthusiastic, self-starters who are interested in law and government.

What?The mission of the Teen Ambassador Board is to provide Ohio’s future leaders with an inside look at Ohio law and government. The Board consists of high school students from around the state. Applicants selected will serve a one-year term and convene twice in Columbus during their tenure on the Board. Members will advise our office on issues relating to teens and work with their peers to develop solutions to those issues. Students will be placed into small groups, advised by an Assistant Attorney General. Members will attend presentations on a wide variety of topics.

Students will also have the opportunity to meet with Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, attend events around the state throughout the year, visit our Columbus and regional offices, interact with Assistant Attorneys General, and hear from various elected officials.

Why?The Attorney General’s Teen Ambassador Board gives Ohio’s teens an unparalleled opportunity to engage in government and law. Students will address some of the greatest issues facing our state and develop solutions to improve the lives of Ohioans. Ambassadors will have the opportunity to receive training on important and pertinent matters, meet with elected officials and interact with Assistant Attorneys General.

Previously, the Board met with the Ohio Attorney General, members of the Ohio Senate and House of Representatives, toured the Ohio Supreme Court and met with Supreme Court Justices, and spoke with senior administrative staff, employees, and BCI scientists of the Attorney General’s Office.
