Year in Review
This past year was my First year of college. It was a great learning experience for me. I found out a lot of my strengths and weaknesses. I realized how much time, effort, and studying should be put into my classes and I had to make changes based on my old study habits. It was definitely a wake up call and when second semester rolled around I felt more prepared to deal with the classes and workload I had. I struggled a lot first semester especially with the class, Chemistry 1210. But, I feel as if I’ve redeemed myself through the spring semester because I’ve definitely devoted more time to studying and I feel like I have the determination and tools to get through harder classes.

- Global Awareness: Students cultivate and develop their appreciation for diversity and each individual’s unique differences. For example, consider course work, study abroad, involvement in cultural organizations or activities, etc.
- Original Inquiry: Honors & Scholars students understand the research process by engaging in experiences ranging from in-class scholarly endeavors to creative inquiry projects to independent experiences with top researchers across campus and in the global community. For example, consider research, creative productions or performances, advanced course work, etc.
- Academic Enrichment: Honors & Scholars students pursue academic excellence through rigorous curricular experiences beyond the university norm both in and out of the classroom.
- Leadership Development: Honors & Scholars students develop leadership skills that can be demonstrated in the classroom, in the community, in their co-curricular activities, and in their future roles in society.
- Service Engagement: This past year I got pretty involved with service. I got my hours from a club called Adopt-A-School. This club allows me to go to a local elementary school once a week and help in a classroom by reading with, teaching math to, and just helping with the children. I helped in a second grade classroom and the children were so sweet and taught me so many life lessons just by interacting with them.

About Me
I am Cassie Cisco from Lakewood, Ohio. I am a first year at The Ohio State University. I inted on majoring in Health Science with a Pre-OT track. I am a student in the Health Sciences Scholars program. My goals are to eventually complete my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and ideally work with children in either a school or a hospital setting. This field of work interests me because I have grown up going to Occupational Therapy sessions for my younger brother. Seeing him grow and learn from these sessions inspires me to help other children who could also benefit from OT. I am very interested in minoring in either Dissability studies or Criminology. These subjects have always piqued my curiosity and I would like to explore those subjects more. I am very interested in the Psychology, Anatomy, and Physiology classes. I enjoy learning about the human body and how it works because it is so complex, along with the human mind. I think it is truly fascinating how we think and what we think about. The human body and mind, to me, is a very complex puzzle that I want to try and piece together through my research. I am unique because I have been around OT, PT, and Speech Therapy for the majority of my life for my younger brother who has a developmental delay. I have learned a lot from this part of my life and I believe it has inspired my career path.
