Kwangwoon “Jon” Lee, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Division of Medicinal Chemistry & Pharmacognosy
The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy
Dr. Lee trained in biochemistry at UC Santa Barbara (B.S.) and CUNY Graduate Center (Ph.D.), where he studied protein kinases using structural and biochemical approaches. He completed postdoctoral research in chemical biology and chromatin biology at Harvard Medical School and Brigham & Women’s Hospital, focusing on transcriptional regulation and protein engineering. At OSU, his lab develops engineered proteins and biosensors to investigate how chromatin regulation is disrupted in disease.
Postdoctoral Fellow
Zuzer Dhoondia, Ph.D. – working on epigenetic biosensor development and enzyme engineering.
Graduate Rotation Students
Jake Tomkovicz – Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy PhD Program, working on designing cancer-related mutant protein-selective binders.
Grace Tran – Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy PhD Program, working on designing cancer-related nuclear mutant protein-selective binders.
Undergraduate Researchers
Celina Liang – BSPS program, working on drug discovery for epigenetic enzymes.
Timothy Li – BSPS program, working on drug discovery for epigenetic enzymes.
Daniela Vicente-Roblero – BSPS program, working on drug discovery for epigenetic regulators.
