These are my tennis racquets that I have been using for the past two years. If you ask anyone they will tell you that these are my most prized possessions. Tennis has been a super important part of my life since I was a little boy when my parents have introduced me to the sport. I have been through many different types of racquets during all of my years while playing tennis but nothing compares to these beauties right here. These two racquets represent a huge part of my life that is my love and passion for the sport of tennis and sports in general. Being on the tennis court is the most stress relieving activity that I can do and I plan on incorporating tennis into the rest of my life.
Hey my name is Brandon Chong and I am from Beavercreek, Ohio. I was raised in San Antonio, Texas before moving to Ohio in 8th grade. I am a neuroscience major who dreams of going through medical school one day to do a greater good in this world by helping those in need. My biggest hobby is tennis, I have been playing since I could run around on the court and try and swing a racquet. I am part of the club travel team who represents OSU at tournaments. I consider myself very social and open to talk to anyone out there, I always love meeting new people and hearing about experiences they have been through that has made them into who they are. I am a very physical and hands on learner so labs and physical activation learning techniques are the most affective for me.
in progress
Global Awareness: One way I want to engage myself in the global community is that I eventually want to study abroad. I would love to go to someplace in Europe because I’ve been so curious to that part of the world.
Original Inquiry:Â I have been looking for many opportunities to start getting involved in research as soon as possible. I want to be able to get into a neuroscience type lab because that is what I am most passionate about. I plan to start research next semester once more available spots are open in the labs i want to be on.
Academic Enrichment:Â I want to be able to find time to join the pre-med club. This will help be able to engage with others that have the same goal as me and can help me work through with all my prerequisites for medical school.
Leadership Development:Â This year I participated in the leadership collaborative through Ohio State and I learned so much. I learned about my own strengths, skills and values to help engage others in anyway possible. I was able to learn about how to get others to be involved in the college community and help transition into the university level.
Service Engagement:Â The last four years I have been able to volunteer through a group called buddy up in which we help individuals with down syndrome get exercise and learn and play the game of tennis. I want to get involved with the Columbus branch of this so that i can get re-involved with the program i have loved the past four years.
