I chose occupational part of my identity worksheet. I tried to express my majors in my self-portrait. I chose the PANTONE color chip format because I major in Human Environment & Design where the color is always seriously considered. To express my another major, Cognitive Science, I used the brush tool to draw something looked like a human.

However, my final self-portrait is very different from my first one, but I still focused on my occupational aspect, student. I put some images relevant to my majors. The brush on the top left side stands for Human Environment & Design. The eye and the human silhouette beyond the cloud stand for Cognitive Science. The cloud is relevant to human’s thinking. Since HED and Cognitive Science are majors about human’s cognition, I associated the cloud with human’s motion of thinking.

I tried to make harmony of color, blue and purple. Also, I tried to balance between the brush, the eye and the silhouette. They are arranged in diagonal line, from the top left to the bottom right. By manipulating the opacity of the cloud, the eye and the silhouette are very dim. It is intended to express the human unconsciousness. The texture of the cloud helps emphasize this. The proportion between the eye and the silhouette is abnormal. I magnified the eye to emphasize that my majors are studying human.
