Teamwork

For one of the exercises for our team building class, the goal was to build the tallest tower out of kinect toys in a minute without talking. Any teams that talked would be disqualified. Before the one minute started, each team had five minutes to figure out how to design their towers, but only two kinect toys can be touching at a time.
The team leader who emerged for this scenario were two group members that were familiar with the toys. My main role in the group was the time keeper. I was to inform the group the remaining time at every 15 seconds. Just like everyone else I contributed to coming up with the design of the tower.
As everyone wanted to input in the design of the tower, we got into a little argument. The argument dissolved quickly as each group member showcased their idea with the their two parts of the toy. The group leaders decided to put together some of the ideas, that would give a simple but solid foundation to the tower.
The biggest concern was the time limit. The group decided that it would be best to have a time keeper, so that they knew how much was needed to be built. Many decisions in the group were made by group consensus.
At the end of the round our group was the tallest tower and the most stable in the class. It was a very big accomplishment, as our teachers told us we had built the second tallest tower they have ever seen.
