As I go into my second year at Ohio State, I have begun to formulate my future personal and professional goals. By the end of my second year, I hope to engage more with Mount Leadership Society and participate in the many open discussions we have to expand my diversity knowledge. I grew up in a very diverse area near Cleveland, so getting to come to a very large school with all kinds of ethnic backgrounds is really incredible. I have also been actively investigating joining a research lab in my major, so by the end of my second year I would really enjoy being apart of a really interesting project in my field.
Going along with my major, I just recently was accepted into the strategic communications major. Now as a second year, I will be beginning my journey to obtaining my degree and getting into the workforce. Before the end of this year I’d like to go out of my comfort zone academically and take some communication courses I may not have considered before like public speaking or crisis communication. Another exciting addition to my second year is becoming an active member of Ohio Staters, Inc. where I will be pursuing large leadership and service projects to benefit OSU’s campus. I’m really looking forward to my next project, which will be to benefit student mental wellness. By the end of my second year I would like to have finalized the plans and budget for this large-scale leadership project.
And finally, throughout my second year as a student I would like to complete my year of service with Mount Scholars. I will be actively volunteering at Ronald McDonald House every week to reach this goal.
