Rand Akasheh, Ph.D., Research Scientist
De. Akasheh holds a PhD degree in integrative pathophysiology and nutrition from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Before joining OSU, she was a faculty member at the American University of Madaba in Jordan. Her calling is to highlight the role of nutrition in disease prevention and treatment through research, teaching, and public speaking.
Cuthbert Mario Mahenge, MD, MPH, Clinical Research Coordinator
Mario received his MPH degree from OSU College of Public Health and medical degree from the Latin American School of Medicine in Havana, Cuba. He has a strong interest in cancer research and molecular epidemiology. He believes Research is foundational to progress and essential against cancer. When he is not working or studying, he enjoys watching documentaries, traveling, cooking, jogging, fixing, and creating things.
Ibrahim Wangese, MD, Graduate Research Assistant
Ibrahim is originally from the city of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He is a physician and alumnus of the Latin American School of Medicine in Havana, Cuba. He is excited to join the Epidemiology MPH program at OSU College of Public Health. He is looking forward to being a part of the global team in executing health reforms. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, biking and hiking.
Yidan Zhang, MPH, Graduate Research Assistant
She starts her PhD journey in Epidemiology in fall 2024 while also serving as a GRA. Originally from Chengdu, China, she completed her MPH degree at Brown University and her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Pittsburgh. Before returning to the U.S., she worked in a pharmaceutical industry. In her free time, she is a fan of classical music.
