STEM Elementary Volunteer Opportunity – Scientific Thinkers

My name is Nathan Zimovan and I am the president of Scientific Thinkers, a student org and volunteer program here at OSU. Through Scientific Thinkers, OSU students have the opportunity to:

  • positively impact the Columbus community by teaching elementary students interactive STEM lessons and experiments
  • mentor underrepresented minority students in STEM who have limited STEM resources within their school
  • gain experience in teaching a unique age group
  • increase their leadership skills, and
  • expand their ability to communicate knowledge of STEM topics to a variety of age groups.

If students are interested they should attend a mandatory orientation on January 23 3-4pm in the Physics Research Building (PRB) which they can sign up for using this link:

The program is highly rewarding and is a great way to complete community service and outreach requirements. More information can be found on our website:

I would greatly appreciate you sharing this opportunity with your scholars!

Best regards,

Nathan Zimovan
