Life Beyond Degree: Biochemistry/Chemistry – Monday, September 30th

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry with the Center for Career and Professional Success are hosting, Life Beyond Degree: Biochem/Chem; an interactive presentation about networking best practices followed with a networking mix and mingle event with alumni!

This event will be two sessions. The first session will start at 4:30PM until 5:30PM. This engaging workshop will help you understand characteristics of an elevator pitch is and it’s necessity, how to incorporate the Career Readiness Competencies in an elevator pitch and the opportunity to prepare and practice your own pitch. You will also learn best practices using social media platforms to network with alumni and employers, utilizing LinkedIn, Alumnifire and more! You will then be equipped to implement the strategies learned in the workshop for part two of the event; an opportunity to practice what you learned and connect with alumni from your degree!

There will be a short break between sessions where light bites and beverages will be provided for free!

The second session will begin at 6:00PM until 7:30PM where you will have a chance to connect with alumni from your program in a small and informal group setting. “Speed dating” rounds will provide you with a great opportunity to chat one on one or in a small group with alumni to gather how they transformed their degree into a career.

We encourage you to attend both sessions but it is not a requirement.
