G.O.A.L.S.

There have been many things I have done to work towards the GOALS within the Mount Leadership Society. I have been opened myself up to the diversity of everyone within my scholars program. I have had some amazing experiences including service events and retreats within my Mount community. I have pursued in many academic events and classes with my fellow scholars friends. And finally, I have developed my leadership inside of the scholars program as well as outside of the scholars program as well.

I believe I have excelled in the way of Leadership development since being in Mount Leadership Society. I have found ways to innovate myself in regards to being a leader, and I think it has made me a better person all around! It has helped to shape my future goals by wanting to have a career in the future that has major interaction with the people around me. Those are some of the GOALS I have made since being in Mount Leadership Society.

First Years: e-Portfolio Artifact 2

This artifact is a picture of my cross that I got in El Salvador on a mission trip. This is a very important cross for many reasons. First off, it represents to me the life-changing experience I had while I was in El Salvador.

I know in my last artifact I talked a bit about how much my experience in El Salvador changed my life, and gave me an idea of what I would like to do with my life. Not only does this cross represent that, but it also represents my faith. My faith pushes me to limits and teaches me how to be a better person in this world. It gives me the strength to go make a lasting impact on the world around me.

When I go out into the business world, I know that I will have the strength to find exactly what it is I want to do with my life, and be able to change the lives of others around me. Because of this cross as well as my faith, I feel strengthened and inspired to be a person for others.

First Years: e-Portfolio Artifact 1

This artifact is a picture of my scratch-off map that I have hung up in my dorm room. I got it about a year ago. The reason this map is important to me is because I am very passionate about the idea of traveling. Every time I go somewhere, I scratch it off. So far, I have only been to a handful of states and El Salvador for a mission trip.

After going on my mission trip to El Salvador, I started to get a taste for what I want to do in my life. I want to be able to travel the world and make a difference in some sort of way. As of right now, I am an International Business major with a minor in Spanish, with the hope to work in the Non-Profit spectrum at some point in my life.

I would say this artifact represents my trip to El Salvador, and my passion to travel after going on that trip. During that trip, I learned so much about the world outside of the United States, and the harsh realities that so many people live in. It was truly as eye-opening experience. Because of that trip my studies are inspired by the want to go back and make a difference. I have it hung up in my room so I am constantly reminded to continue to chase my dreams and never give up on what I believe in.
