Discussion Question #4

I have loved my college experience thus far. The most important thing to me in my life is learning. The pursuit of knowledge (more specifically chemical knowledge) is what I intend to dedicate my life to. I love living in a place dedicated to knowledge and I love being surrounded by people who are (more or less) also dedicated to learning. I really miss my cat, though. And I miss my mom even more so. I appreciate how much more freedom I have here, but at the same time I miss my mom’s home-cooked food and just having her to talk to. That is the thing that has changed the most for me mentally in the last few months. I have much more freedom, but also much more responsibility, mostly over myself. It is imperative that I am able to deal with this as this is only the beginning of a whole life away from my parents. My mom was never the one who pushed me to do my homework and to study so I’m pretty on top of all that in my life, but just not having her around is sad in general. It is important for my sanity and for hers that we stay in contact whether or not I “need” to talk to her. She is my mother and she dedicated her entire life to ensuring that my brothers and myself have the best life possible. Truly the least I can do is drop her a call and tell her how I’m doing and asking how she is.
