Leila Chapron

I am currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the School of Earth Sciences at The Ohio State University. I am working with Professor Andréa Grottoli in collaboration with Dr. Ilsa Kuffner from the United State Geological Survey (USGS). Our goal is to evaluate the persistence of the endangered coral Acropora palmata in the Dry Tortugas National Park, Florida, compared to the other part of the Florida keys through a holobiont approach from the physiology to the microbiome.

I received my B.Sc. from Diderot University (Paris) in 2014, my M.Sc from Pierre et Marie Curie University (Paris) in 2016 and my Ph.D from Sorbonne University (Paris) in 2019. I am an ecophysiologist and ecotoxicologist interested in understanding the responses of corals to anthropogenic stressors from the microbiome to the reef scale.
