Wellness Opportunities

I encourage you to take advantage of the many wellness opportunities that our university has to offer. Don’t forget to complete your PHA and biometric screening so that you can earn 2019 health insurance premium credit. Also, I’d like to call your attention to the upcoming Hit the Road with the Buckeyes physical activity competition as well as the new the stress reduction resources, you’ll find more information on each of these below.

Earn 2019 Premium Credit
If you plan to enroll in an Ohio State medical plan for 2019, you may receive a premium credit to reduce the cost of your employee medical plan contributions with the completion of the Personal Health and Well-being Assessment (PHA) and a verified Biometric Screening. Enrolled faculty and staff can receive $20/month by completing both requirements, and $30/month if their enrolled spouse does as well. Complete both steps below in 2018 to lock in receiving the full premium credit for 2019.

  1. Visit your primary care provider and submit a provider fax form to the OSU Health Plan.
  2. Schedule a complimentary on-campus biometric screening.

If you have not already registered for the new wellness portal through Virgin Pulse, you will need to do so prior to completing the PHA. For help with registration, visit the Quick Start Guide for step-by-step instructions.

Hit the Road with the Buckeyes
Your Plan for Health’s signature team walking challenge – Hit the Road with the Buckeyes – returns for its 9th edition this fall. This year’s challenge will be a unique and interactive experience that you don’t want to miss! As we crisscross the Midwest, you will learn about the academic and athletic history of our conference companions. Work together as a team to unlock content about each away Big Ten football opponent. Teams will need to walk over 5.6 million steps to reach all destinations.

The challenge starts on Oct. 1 and continues through Dec. 2. Pre-register your team of up to 10 benefits-eligible faculty/staff and enrolled spouses today.
