CFAES Equity & Inclusion Update

I am pleased to share that the CFAES Equity and Inclusion web page is live, . The web site contains information on topics related to equity, inclusion, and diversity. College, university and external events are featured in the “Events” page. A monthly blog is available and individuals can subscribe. I hope that the blog allows for interaction and conversation on topics related to equity, inclusion and diversity. If you have suggestions for the site please feel free to share them with me

Professional Development Opportunities

The college’s Equity and Inclusion Initiative will sponsor 5 people to attend the American Council on Education Women’s Network Ohio (ACE Network Ohio) Annual Conference. The conference starts on Thursday, November 5 with an opening reception and keynote address. Friday, November 6 features a Presidential Panel and concurrent workshops on leadership topics for women in higher education. To be considered for this opportunity please complete the ACE Network Ohio Application by September 30. If selected, you are responsible for following travel policies and procedures for reimbursement.

New way to request professional development

In addition to the opportunities listed in the Events section of the Equity and Inclusion site there are several internal options available. Please complete the Training Request Form if you would like to schedule a professional development opportunity for your department or unit. In addition to, Open Doors, Cultural Intelligence, and Search Committee Training you may request a specific topic. I am willing to travel to Wooster Campus, regions, and county offices for a minimum of 10 participants.

Professional Development Training Support Fund

I am pleased to share that CFAES will once again support faculty and staff who are interested in professional development opportunities that will provide knowledge and skills that can be used to enhance our equity and inclusion efforts. The fund can support 10 requests up to $5000. Once all funds are awarded no more applications will be accepted. The Professional Development Training Support Fund Application is a fillable PDF and you may have to save it onto your computer to complete the form.
