OGR  The McDonnell Genome Institute at Washington University in St. Louis is now accepting applications for the Opportunities in Genomics Research (OGR) program (genome.wustl.edu). The OGR programs are directed to increasing the number of underrepresented students who pursue PhD’s in genomics and related fields. There are two OGR mentored research programs: Undergraduate Scholars, a 10 – week summer program and Extensive Study, a one-year post-baccalaureate program that includes research and enrichment activities such as GRE and graduate school preparation.

SPORE The SPORE in Leukemia program offers a one-year post-baccalaureate  program for students interested in medical research. The goal of this program is to provide post-baccalaureate trainees  from underrepresented backgrounds with an intensive 1-year exposure to leukemia-related research.  The trainees will have the opportunity to work with and be mentored by a top leukemia researcher.
 
Program features: Both programs include mentored research with premier investigators in genomics, genetics, cancer biology and other disciplines. Program benefits: competitive stipend/salary, travel to St. Louis and housing (summer program only).
