SLDS Chemistry Lab Assistant Positions

Student Life Disability Services is accepting applications for Chemistry Lab Assistant positions in Spring 2021. This position provides the opportunity to assist students who have disabilities in the lab setting.

Responsibilities include:

  • scheduling meetings with students before each lab to talk about safety measures and procedures
  • performing duties in lab as described by students
  • following all department instructions on safety and dress code

To apply, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • enrolled as a student during Spring 2021
  • cumulative GPA > 3.0
  • completed General Chemistry Sequence (1210/1220; 1610/1620; or 1910H/1920H) with an A or A-

Appointment details are as follows:

  • $10/hour
  • variable hours

CAS Part-Time Information Specialist

Chemical Abstract Services (CAS) is looking for eager students to apply for their part-time information specialist positions! CAS is a division of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and works to solve challenges in business, content, technology, and resources to drive scientific discovery forward.

This position offers flexible hours for students and the opportunity to work hands-on with chemical information.

Qualifications: 

  • Sophomore standing in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related major
  • At least one completed Organic Chemistry course
  • Availability for 12-18 months
  • Excellent organizational, reading comprehension, problem-solving, self-management, and communication skills
