Spring Career Fair

If you are looking for a career or internship, consider attending the Ohio State University Spring Career Fair! This event is intended to help students and recent graduates network and learn about career opportunities. There will be employers recruiting for business and technical functions as well as science and technology careers.

Current students must bring a valid BuckID to enter the fair. Recent graduates must drop off a copy of their resumes at the registration desk upon arrival.

The career fair will take place on January 21, 2020 from 11:30 am-4:30 pm in the Performance Hall and the Grand Ballroom in the Ohio Union.

Apply to be a General Chemistry TA in Spring 2020!

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry hires over 50 outstanding undergraduates per semester to teach our General Chemistry course. If you’d like to improve your content knowledge at your job, help students through problems and get teaching experience, TAing could be for you!

Qualifications:

  • Completed General Chemistry Sequence (1210/1220; 1610/1620 or 1910H/1920H) with an A or A- (preferred)
  • Accumulative GPA > 3.6
  • Taking Classes during Spring 2020
  •  No other paid student appointment during Autumn 2019 (this includes paid research)

Appointment Details:

  • Salary:  $12/hour
  • Hours:  10-12 per week
  • Responsibilities:  Teach 1-3 hour lab; promptly grade assignments and prepare for teaching responsibilities, 1 weekly office hour; proctor all exams, attend weekly staff meetings and beginning of the year training beginning Sunday, January 6th.  Conflicts with training should be stated on your application and be described in detail, if possible.

Henry M. Jackson Foundation

HJF is seeking applicants for a position as a Clinical Research Assistant. In this position, you will participate in a brain injury research group. HJF is looking for individuals with a B.A. or B.S. in a science or health field. For this position you will need to relocate to Bethseda, MD, as you will be working in the Center for Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine Acute Studies Core at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, the Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD, and the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Find out more about this position and apply here!

HJF is also seeking applicants for a position as a Clinical Research Coordinator in San Antonio, TX. This position supports the Infectious Disease Clinical Research Program at the Brooke Army Medical Center which is a 6-9 month long program. Quality Control Technician Position

Siegwerk is seeking applicants for a Quality Control Technician position at their office in Des Moines, Iowa. In this position, you will perform testing throughout the production process and evaluate data to maintain the quality of Siegwerk products. Main job responsibilities include testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process, as well as compiling and evaluating data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of our ink and other products.

Siegwerk is looking for individuals who have previous experience in a lab, understanding of chemistry, as well as an understanding of related raw materials, ink systems, production processes, and equipment. ASC Career Trek: MEDPACE

The ASC Career Trek: MEDPACE event is occurring on March 13th during spring break from 1:00pm to 3:30pm in Cincinnati.

This event will include:

-A tour of the MedPace Facility

-Information about multiple job opportunities

-A Chance to observe a Clinical Research Associate working with medical staff

-A Q&A session

Medpace has space for 45 life science students to participate in this event! Their preference is for juniors, seniors and graduate students, but freshmen & sophomores are welcome to register as well.

Students will need to provide their own transportation to and from the event. Priority registration is February 16th. Students who register prior to February 16, 2019 will be notified of acceptance to the Medpace Career Trek by February 22nd.
