This year’s annual FOCUS (Females of Chemistry Uniting Scientists) Research Symposium will be held this week: March 21 and March 22, 2024.
The symposium will include three student talks, a poster session, a career panel, and talks from two invited speakers, Dr. Angela Hight Walker from NIST and Dr. Nicole Goodwin from GSK.

Monday, 3/6 – Air & Space SCOPE Conversation, Keith Contrera, SpaceX Engineer: Keith Contrera is a lead propulsion engineer at SpaceX where he works on raptor vacuum engine nozzle extensions. He graduated from Ohio State in 2020 with his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and minor in business. During his time at Ohio State the Battelle Center for Science, Engineering, and Public Policy and the Mountaineers club. Additionally, he completed internships at Moog Inc., NASA Glenn Research Center and SpaceX.
