ACS Career Workshop

The American Chemical Society is hosting a chemistry career-related workshop titled “Finding Your Path” on Saturday, February 18th from 10:30am-2:00pm in CBEC 130.

This is a wonderful opportunity to network, as well as learn about what it is like to work in a chemistry field!

The event will host a speaker from the American Chemical Society and many members from the American Chemical Society-Columbus Section. During the workshop, you will learn about the four sectors of chemistry employment and which best aligns to your values and strengths. You will also learn about planning your next steps to obtaining your ideal position, and effective networking and job searching.

A boxed lunch will be provided during the workshop. There will also be opportunities to win chemistry related prizes.

The event is free to all Chemistry students from the Columbus, Ohio area. Parking will be validated for students outside of OSU campus.

Those who plan to attend must RSVP by February 11th on the Columbus ACS website.

ACS Publications: Marketing Manager Needed

The American Chemical Society is looking for a Journal Marketing Manager for their organic and med portfolio.ACS

The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning and administration of marketing campaigns for a portfolio of journals. They also engage the scientific community to drive inbound manuscript submissions in terms of quality and quantity, as well as helping to drive readership.

Potential journals under management include, but are not limited to:

  • Journal of Organic Chemistry
  • Organic Letters
  • Organometallics

Applicants should be chemistry or biochemistry graduates and have business experience and good communication skills.
