Information Session:

All seniors and juniors are invited to join a virtual MCORE info session on Thursday, September 12 at 3 PM.

About MCORE:

The Michigan Chemistry Opportunities for Research and Education (MCORE) program invites approximately 20 highly qualified prospective students to the University of Michigan Chemistry Department to explore the Chemistry graduate program. Participations will interact with faculty, staff, and current graduate students, as well as have an opportunity to explore the chemistry building, labs, and Ann Arbor area.

There is no cost to attend for students selected to participate in MCORE.

MICHR Summer Research Program

Program Information:

  • 10-week full-time immersion program: May 28 – August 2, 2024
  • Engage in clinical, translational science, & health disparities research
  • Work with a mentor on an ongoing, funded research project
  • Orientation and required training in the protection of human subjects and the responsible conduct of research
  • Meet with community members who partner with academics in research
  • Classroom work and team projects
  • Participating students will be hired as temporary U-M employees and paid a salary

Eligibility:

  • Graduating college seniors, master’s degree students, and health professions degree students
  • Students enrolled in any health-related programs (e.g. biomedical engineering, dentistry, kinesiology, medicine, nursing, public health, social work, etc)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident

Cleveland Clinic MOST Fellowship

The Cleveland Clinic Foundations Clinical Post-baccalaureate program is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Cohort through April 30, 2024.

In partnership with Stanford University, the Medical Observation and Scribe Training (MOST) Fellowship is a 12 month program designed to provide exceptional clinical experience and professional development to students while strengthening their applications to Medical school, PA school, and other health care programs. Students in the program act as a Medical Scribe in clinic with a Physician Mentor. The most recent MOST Fellowship cohort had an 88% acceptance rate into medical school.

Students complete 24 hours per week of scribing and medical observation with their assigned clinical preceptor in clinic. Other optional experiences included in the MOST fellowship are:

  • Shadowing in other medical specialties
  • Conducting research in any specialty of interest
  • Multiple group volunteering projects throughout the year
  • MCAT tutoring
  • Experiences in state-of-the-art simulation lab workshops
  • In person and virtual clinical workshops
  • Access to Cleveland Clinic Residency Grand Rounds
  • Medical school site visits and interview prep
  • Ability for paid part time opportunities within the Cleveland Clinic
  • Letters of recommendation
  • MOST Fellow Alumni Peer Mentor for Application Support
  • End of the year Stanford University-Cleveland Clinic Research Symposium
