Franklin International Internship Positions

Franklin International is currently seeking 3 interns, one for engineering and two for chemical lab work. The internship runs from November 1, 2020 until April 30, 2021, with the potential opportunity to stay on for the summer. Minimum pay is $15 per hour and hours are usually during the day Monday through Friday.

Indianapolis Teaching Fellows

Indianapolis Teaching Fellows trains students without education degrees to become excellent teachers in a variety of subjects. Their Fellows will complete an intensive summer training program and begin to teach in Fall 2021. For the first two years of teaching, you will continue to receive coaching and complete additional certification coursework.

In order to apply you must graduate with your Bachelor’s by June 1 2021, be permitted to work in the U.S., have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, and not be a licensed teacher.

ASC Career Treks – Free Opportunities over Spring Break!

The Ohio State University College of Arts and Sciences Career Trek is offering three neat opportunities for students to explore careers in the science industry! These opportunities take place over Spring Break (March 9th, 2020 to March 13th, 2020). Students will get to visit the company they choose, learn about the various careers offered, tour the facilities, and ask questions! Here are the three opportunities:

Monday, March 9th, 2020 from 1:45pm to 3:00pm — LabCorp in Dublin, Ohio

LabCorp would prefer juniors and seniors majoring in biology or microbiology to sign up, but encourage students majoring in life science to attend as well. There is a limit of 20 students able to register.

Friday, March 13th, 2020 from 11:00am to 2:00pm — MEDPACE in Cincinnati, Ohio

MEDPACE would prefer juniors, seniors, and graduate students from the College of Pharmacy or majoring in life science to sign up, but the company welcomes students at all levels in those fields to attend. There is a limit of 35 students able to attend. Also, MEDPACE would like for students to submit their resumes prior to visiting. Students can email their resumes to Molly Wanamaker at wanamaker.1@osu.edu

Friday, March 13th, 2020 from 2:30pm to 5:00pm — Camargo Pharma in Cincinnati, Ohio

Camargo would prefer post-doctorate students, graduate students, and seniors; however, all students are encouraged to attend. There is a limit of 20 students able to join. Students will need to have their own transportation to and from the companies. In addition, LabCorp, MEDPACE, and Camargo are not currently providing work visas for international students. Students are able to attend more than one of the Career Treks if they wish!

Career Treks gives students from the College of Arts and Sciences opportunities to learn more about career options by visiting various companies.

Procter & Gamble Associate Scientist Position

They are seeking applicants who have their Bachelors degree in Chemistry or a related field and prefer applicants who have an understanding of digital systems, instrumental software, data modeling, and cGMP standards. Paid Summer Research at the College of Wooster

The College of Wooster’s NSF-REU program for Summer 2020 is now accepting applications. This is a 10-week research program housed in Wooster’s Physics Department. You may find information about potential research projects here.

These research projects are both innovative and accessible to undergraduate students. Students will be treated as collaborators and will learn how to be independent scientific thinkers during this program. In addition to research, students will participate in career-building workshops as well as other social events. Throughout the summer, students will complete a paper to summarize their research and present tier work in a poster session.

In order to apply, students should have completed one year of college-level introductory physics.

This program begins Monday, May 18 and ends on Friday, July 24. Participating students will be paid a $6,500 stipend. Relocation funds are available.

Join Scientific Thinkers at OSU

Scientific Thinkers is a student organization here at OSU. They are a volunteer program that seeks to impact our community by teaching elementary students and mentoring underrepresented students with limited STEM resources. This student organization will allow students to gain teaching experience, grow in leadership skills, and improve in their ability to teach STEM material.

University of Akron 2020 Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates

The University of AkronThe University of Akron’s 2020 Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program in the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering is now accepting applications! This program consists of an 11-week internship where students will investigate a fundamental question within the disciplines of polymer science and engineering. Students will gain research and career development experience during this program. At the end of the summer, students will present their research results at the Northeast Ohio NSF-REU Undergraduate Research Conference. There is a $7,500 stipend for this program, of which $5,500 is paid directly to the student and $2,000 of which is allocated directly to housing and related living expenses. The program will begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 and will end on Friday, August 7, 2020.

Marine Physical Laboratory Summer Internship Program

Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, California is looking for applicants for their Marine Physical Laboratory Summer Internship Program in Summer 2020. This program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to do research with some of the most notable scientists in the world.

To apply, you must be a US citizen or permanent resident and be enrolled as a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year undergraduate student. Your application will include a resume, a statement of interest, academic records, and two letters of recommendation from current or recent professors. The internship pays $14 an hour. You must be able to start work in June and work for 10 consecutive weeks following the start date.
