Year in Review

Over the past year, I have graduated in a COVID-ridden environment as well as adapted to a new way of life because of it. As a senior last year, I was a starter on a state championship football team, involved myself at my high school as a member of student council and student ambassadors, and said goodbye to a handful of friends that I have not seen since summer. The adjustment to college has been positive and I am excited to be here at Ohio State. I’ve made new friends from across the states and built new relationships that I hope will last a lifetime. My growth as a student has been exponential, and my experiences are getting wider and wider.

A- So far, my experience in rigorous coursework at Ohio State is minimal. On the other hand, I challenged myself in high school with many different AP classes as well as my involvement in student council, student ambassadors, spirit committee, and over a years worth of community service classes. Also, as a part of extending myself into the world, me and a few of my classmates from high school founded a service group called Why Not? This organization has continued this year and has been passed down to the seniors of the 2021 class.

L- As well as my involvement in student council and other leadership positions in high school, I was a senior leader on Elder High School’s 2020 varsity football team, which went to the state championship last year.

S- Part-founder of Why Not? service group in 2020. The group still works today in poorer areas of my hometown, Cincinnati. The twitter of Why Not? is @_WhyNotSG.

Artifacts

This artifact represents my desire to be a part of something bigger than myself. Being interested in the medical field, I want to help people overcome obstacles that they have in life. This picture is a reminder that it could always be worse, and to keep a positive mindset through times of struggle.
