My Fine Art Journey

I have studied art at the University of Alabama, Samford University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and George Peabody College/Vanderbilt University, ultimately receiving a degree in art and art education in 1978. I taught art for several years at the Elementary and High School levels in Catholic Schools and later expanded my education to include space for nursing and clinical research careers. In addition to painting, I have served as an art instructor, mentor and arts retreat facilitator in a variety of settings.

As a life-long learner, my art has been highly influenced by other abstract impressionist painters, in the oil painting methods of Sergei Bongart. My paintings reflect my passion for intersecting journeys and energies of nature, people, light, soul and Spirit.  My portfolio is found online at www.carolynnthomasjones.com
