About Me

My name is Paige Carmichael and I am from Cleveland, Ohio. I am majoring in Health Sciences on a pre-med track with an ultimate goal of becoming an ophthalmologist. My desire to become an ophthalmologist stems from the frequent visits I had to my own ophthalmologist after having several problems with my eyes as a child. In the future, I hope to create an atmosphere as comfortable and rewarding for my patients as my ophthalmologist did for me. Throughout high school, I played tennis and I plan to join club tennis at Ohio State. Another one of my passions is community service, specifically projects related to helping homeless veterans in the local community as well as creating better access to healthcare in underprivileged communities. Therefore, a few community service based clubs that really stood out to me at Ohio State were MEDLIFE Mission and Crosswalk Outreach. Some of my other interests include yoga, hiking, and traveling. I absolutely love to immerse myself in new cultures, especially when it comes to trying new foods! I am looking forward to a great experience at The Ohio State University and I could not be more excited to be part of this upbeat community!
