Artifacts

My artifact is my bid to Alpha Kappa Psi. AKPsi is a co-ed business fraternity on campus that I decided to rush the autumn of my freshman year. When I decided to rush, I was going into the experience expecting to not get a bid and rush again next semester. All throughout the experience I was told that it was okay to not get in the first time, and that most people rush twice. However, I did get a bid my first time around, and it was definitely the most surprising and exciting moment I’ve had since I’ve gotten on campus here at Ohio State.

Joining AKPsi has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my entire life. Immediately I had a core group of friends, a successful group of mentors, and something to actually keep me busy on campus. Not only did I learn useful skills like how to write a professional email, format a resume, or give a presentation, but I also gained an OSU family. The people that I’ve met throughout this organization push me to be a better version of myself, and for that I will be eternally grateful. I am so excited to see where AKPsi will take me the next three years on campus, and beyond graduation for the rest of my life.

About Me

I grew up in Mason, Ohio, a suburb about 20 minutes north of Cincinnati. All my life I imagined myself going to a big college, but I never considered Ohio State. However as soon as I visited, I knew it was the place I wanted to end up. Now that I’m here, I’m studying Finance and hoping to pursue a minor in design. While I love numbers and problem solving, my true interests lie within digital art. Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are my go-to programs, but I’m eager to learn the entire Adobe Cloud Series. Since I’ve been on campus I’ve gotten involved in numerous organizations, but my main involvements are with Alpha Kappa Psi, Kappa Delta, and Business Scholars. Before I graduate, I want to study abroad, hold a executive board leadership position within at least one of my organizations, and try at least 15 restaurants in Short North.
