Maybe it was Emergency Medicine All Along?
In the fall of my first year of medical school, I thought I wanted to be a neonatologist or Ob/Gyn. I loved working with kids and the perinatal period, and enjoyed the mix of procedural and medicine aspects of those specialties. As part of my career exploration through the College of Medicine, I completed a “Medical Specialty Preference Inventory” through the AAMC.
Maybe I was destined for Emergency Medicine from the start!
