Biology, cultivar evaluation, physiology, and phytochemical analysis of both common and uncommon fruits have the main focus of my research and extension efforts during the last seven years. We have installed research and demonstration plots of aronia, blackberries, blueberries, elderberries, goji, hardy kiwi, hardy figs, raspberries, and wine grapes at our research and extension Center in Piketon. I have been exploring and fine-tuning the optimum ways to grow fruits with the highest nutritional quality in Ohio and beyond. Phytochemicals with health benefits in fruits, herbs, and vegetables have been the central theme of our research.
