Research
- After taking notes on Dieter Rams’ article about ten principles of good design, I began to research what products I use have or don’t have these ten principles.
- For this exercise, I chose:
- Bladeless Fan for good design I like
- Form I-20 for bad design I dislike
- Phone camera for good design I dislike
- Barcelona jersey for bad design I like

Exercise
- This is the final product of Exercise 1 based on ten principles of good design by Dieter Rams.
Iterations
→
- The left image was my first layout of the “About Me” page.
- I was going to put in order of Bio, Noteworthy Info, Reflection on Design, Curiosity, and images
- Realized readers of my page would feel boring because of the wrong format; all of the words are at the top, and images were at the bottom
- Then I changed the arrangement of the content to help them focus more on my page by putting an image next to the words
- The right image is my final layout of the page
- put two images for visualization and colored the sub-headers
Production
The above screenshot is the outcome of my “About Me” page. I tried to focus on how to make the readers of this page enjoy the reading and not feel boring. It was my first time creating a page on this website, and I struggled whenever I attempted to edit something. I learned a lot about how to use tools when creating a page. Also, I received some feedback from my classmates, which helped me produce a better production. I’m satisfied with the final production of the page with my ideal layout and color choice of the sub-headers.
